It's been a year?!?!?

I totally can't believe it's been an entire year since I made my last blog post. I did create my FB Totally Jen page and have been posting short updates on that! Please go out and like my page for the most current updates and inspirations https://www.facebook.com/TotallyJenH/.

So let's see to get this blog updated real quick... I found out I was pregnant in July of 2018, and we are expecting our little boy Ethan James about mid-March. The original due date is March 31st, however, due to complications with the pregnancy and prior issues the doctor wants to go at least 2 weeks early. Wish me luck as I head into the home stretch!

We've almost lived in our house for a whole year, and we love it! The holidays were so nice having all the extra space for friends and family.

We have added two new additions to our household. The first one is Sadie our standard poodle. She is very pretty and full of energy. She's been giving me a run for my money that's for sure. Although I will say within the last month she has really become a better dog. It was touch and go for a moment. Our second addition is Sneaky Snickers our new guinea pig. When we first picked up the Mochachinno we didn't realize they thrived in herds. While we won't have a herd we decided having a pair would give her the best quality of life. Snickers has been under quarantine the last week and has one more week to go. Fingers crossed that the bonding next week goes as planned!

Finally, the last big change in 2018 was deciding to be a stay at home mom. I've been staying at home since September, and it's been great! I've already had the opportunity to spend more time with Alex, and it's allowed me to focus on my health for the baby. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss the news but after 11 years I think that's to be expected. I do plan on picking up side work here and there. Bryan, and I both work on computers so if you have any computer needs let us know! I'm also open to other ventures so if you think you have something else I might be interested in doing on the side you know where to find me. :)

Okay, that's all I got for today. I'm going to try and make more posts going forward, but I do have a few busy months ahead of me. Have a great 2019!

Long Covid, POTS, and Restricted Lung Disease - Rehab Update

Hey everyone!  It's taken a little longer to post than I would have liked. We had a couple colds and the stomach flu plague our house last month and I'm just not starting to feel more human. So a lot has happened since my last post. My primary doctor figured out that I had covid at some point. I've always felt like this is why all my symptoms and everything got worse but I didn't have proof. If I had to pinpoint when I got covid it was in March of 2020. That's pretty much when things went downhill. If you've had covid or think you might have had covid and are having crazy symptoms I implore you to look into dysautonomia. It might be a huge piece of the puzzle you are missing. I was diagnosed with POTS which is a form of dysautonomia and by bringing my HR down to a more reasonable level the brain fog lifted and I've felt much better. I still fight hypertension 10-14 days a month but I was fighting issues 100% of the time. I was just glad to get somewhat of a

Starting Over

Well, lets see starting over sure could cover a wide range of topics. However, I am going to be focusing this blogging site about my journey to my health and fitness. Man, there are so many haters out there and people who are going to say, "Why is she doing this? Is she just wanting attention? How pathetic!". That's okay, the gene that many of us millennials have says I owe no explanation and should say, "screw it, who cares!". But the compassionate part of me feels I owe most of you an explanation. So here it is... All I am asking for is support and encouragement as I go through this journey. It's not easy and lets face it this isn't my first rodeo.  Now with that out of the way. I want to talk about how I am back in this situation again. Many reasons really with a good majority of them being what most people call excuses. The number one reason is actually medical. In November of 2014, I started having Achilles tendinitis. Yes, this is treatable as lo

Turning 30

Wow! Has it really been 30 years since I was born? I'm sure to my mother it feels like just yesterday still. I've decided what I really want to do is start a blog and really stick to it. Let's see what this blog looks like by next year. Hopefully, it's not like my last one, and I drop off the face of the earth. 😉 Speaking of my last post... I've still been trying to eat healthier, and I've been going to the gym about once a week. I feel a difference, and it helped me be able to get the top part of the dress tied all the way. That means no alterations for me!!! I've realized that it's really hard to find food without sugar/carbs, so I feel kind of lost in this world of prediabetes. I'm supposed to eat more protein but as I often joke with Bryan I think I might need to be a vegetarian. I couldn't care less about meat. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy a nice steak but let's face it... It's nearly impossible to make a delicious steak at
